I've spent the last year wondering what has reallly gone on in the world of small business and I've come to a conclusion - some of you may like it and others will not. I'll go back a bit to give you some background before I tell you exactly what I'm referring to in this article.

Commercial food establishments today create a huge amount of waste. Food Waste comprises of about 40% of all waste generated and is the #1 contaminant of all waste products. Cardboard, Plastic, Metal and Glass are all rather easy to recycle into useful products not so with food waste.

The one question people who are starting a small business ask me is "Do I need a website". My answer is, most probably.
As one of the co-founders of the Small Business Community Network (SBCN) I do come into contact with a lot of small biz owners who build websites, but for someone who has no budget at all, think about doing your own. If you do have a small budget the benefits of building your own website could be learning a new skillset, having more control over the finished product and, maybe, saving some money.

Creating an experience your customers will never forget should be about them leaving with an excellent experience, and one they will be happy to share with others.
Unfortunately customers often leave with a bad experience planted firmly in their thoughts and are happy to share their negative experience with others.

Interesting that we should have such a day that 'gives families the chance to spend time together'. Now, I know it's an excuse to have a long weekend in February, so none of us are complaining. The long wait to Easter is just that, too long. However not all provinces in Canada have Family Day as a holiday. The provinces of Alberta, Ontario, Saskatchewan and British Columbia all observe this day but not even on the same day. Family day also falls on National Heritage Day in most provinces.

When we are painting a home we are so happy to know that our customer will not be breathing in all the fumes that the standard paint has.
This past year Enviro Painting has painted many homes but have also painted larger facilities where we can make even more of a difference.

Are you in business because it's your passion and you love your work, or is it all about the money?
Don't get me wrong, being in business and not making any money is not something I am advocating.
