Security Not Just For Ninjas

This year has been rather challenging for me since I broke my wrist in May. But where there is a will there is a way so they say, I managed to carry on regardless, moan a bit here and there, but mostly I was motivated and counting the days until my wrist was 100% better. The best laid plans as they say, so it's probably not a surprise that we are now in October and I am still having challenges with my right hand, as a by product of breaking my wrist.

Which Foods Are Your Friends?

We are hearing so much in the news lately about diet and nutrition.  Eat this, don’t eat that.  Every day there is a new “super” food or a new book about health, diet or nutrition.  Are you left wondering what to feed yourself and your family?  I don’t blame you!

Do Your Research

Many people claim to have the answer as to how to make your business successful. In fact, over the past several days, I've listened to a number of highly successful entrepreneurs talking about their journey. There are some differences in the approach, but there was a single constant: do your research.

Without Volunteers Organizations Cannot Survive

I think it is well known, more so today than ever before, that a lot of organizations cannot survive without the support of volunteers. It may have been different ten or so years ago when company budgets were sky high and the World was a different place. Many businesses today have had to cut budgets, ensure that employees have more than one role to play in the organization and, more importantly, display they can be a team player. Even so there are gaps in most organizations that cannot be filled by employing more people and offering them a salary.

It's The Marketing, Stupid

History is littered with the decomposing corpses of businesses that had great ideas, but failed to convince enough people that they needed the product or service they were selling.  Why?  Because their marketing mix was wrong.  They had the product; they might even have had the price.  Many will have had the place right.  I suspect the majority of failed companies, however, didn't get the promotion right.  They failed to tell the right audience - people who would be interested in buying their product and service - why they would want to buy it.

Plan to Succeed & Plan Not to Fail

Too often than not small biz owners, who have a remarkable business offering, loads of motivation and are keen to work hard give up after a couple of years, when they deem their business failed.

If we look back at APPLE as an example, where would they be today if they had given up?

Small biz owners do make mistakes, do run out of capital, clients, and energy to carry on, but this is really sad because if those small biz owners just took the time to analysis what went wrong they would definitely be on the road to success.

Did You Ever Know You're My Hero?

"We all have a hero in our lives, but do THEY know how much they helped us and how we think of them as our hero?

Did you ever know that you're my hero,
and everything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle,
'cause you are the wind beneath my wings."

I have so many people I admire in my life, but I will share with you some of the people I admire and think of as my hero's:
