TELUS Talks Business

You have no idea how painful it is for me to type this article, I AM right handed and broke my wrist a few days ago, so i am using one finger on my left hand to tpe very slowly. I could use my Ipad which has an app that allows me to dictate but I am trying to get used to using my left hand to dress, eat etc.

Perseverance can take you far, which leads me nicely into a great article you can find on the TELUS Talks Business website

Why The Small Business Community Network?

With so many business and social networking events offered it can be a difficult choice deciding where to spend your time and money. Part of the problem is you may not see your networking goals as an investment, both in your time and financially.

Think about this, how often do you meet someone for coffee to discuss business? You took the time to either walk, use public transport or drive to your destination = your time. You paid for bus far or gas = money spent. You purchased a cup of coffee or other refreshment = money spent. You spend an hour connecting with someone = your time.

We live in a world of uncertainty. Technology has helped us lead more efficient lives but has also meant we use some technology 24/7 and appear not to be able to maintain a life without it. I am referring to cell phones. It's all about choices. In the olden days when children walked home from school alone they had been taught street smart tactics in case a stranger tried to tempt them into a car, one example. These days children are given cell phones from an early age and, yes, in some cases it is for their personal safety.
