Canadian Film at UN Stummit on Climate Change at Copenhagen!

A friend of mine has made a documentary called "The Antarctica Challenge: A Global Warning"!

This documentary will be shown at the Princess Theatre in Waterloo Nov. 26th, 2009 at 7:15pm.   Tickets are now pre selling.  Seats are limited so best purchase your ticket early to avoid missing out.

This documentary will be shown in Copenhagen  to the world delegates making decisions on how to proactively make changes that will affect us all.  It is the United Nations Summit on Climate Change!

Style Matters

Style really does matter, not just in clothing, but also in written communication with your clients, or prospective new clients. Style goes beyond correct spelling and grammar to the words you choose and the way you get your message across. Are you too wordy? Do you use too many cliches? Are your words precise so that readers can grasp your meaning, or do you write in the abstract?

This week, I began something new. After proposing creative writing classes to community centres in Kitchener earlier this year, I have a class at Rockway Seniors Centre on Monday mornings for the Fall sessions. For some of the participants, this will be an entirely new adventure. I teach them about writing through lecture and interactive activities and most of all, writing assignments that they will work on over eight weeks of the course, honing and polishing their writing.

I would now like to share this story about a very special child that I have been working on over the past four months in Edmonton, AB, Canada. This little girl was diagnosed with:

Nystagmus...wobbly eyes due to brain development.
Lissencephaly(smooth brain)...Miller-Dieker Syndrome(rare genetic disorder).
West Syndrome & Infantile Spasms-seizure disorders.
Global Development Delay.
Swallowing issues-high risk for aspiration/pneumonia.
